The Partnership for Advanced Care and Treatment (PACT) Timiza program was a five-year US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded program that supports the provision of comprehensive HIV services in Migori and Kisii counties. Ciheb-Kenya collaborated with the county government of Migori to provide HIV prevention and treatment services at 118 facilities. The program worked with the county health management teams of Migori county to achieve HIV epidemic control by focusing on the following activities:
- Provide high quality targeted HIV testing services (HTS) leading to the identification and linkage of HIV-infected individuals to HIV care
- Provide quality patient-centered HIV care and treatment services for people living with HIV (PLHIV)
- Provide HIV prevention and treatment services for pregnant and breastfeeding women
- Provide quality collaborative tuberculosis (TB) and HIV services to reduce the burden of TB among PLHIV
- Provide comprehensive voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services for eligible populations
- Provide cervical cancer screening services for women in reproductive age groups
- Provide HIV prevention interventions including HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and gender-based violence (GBV) services
- Strengthen health systems to support the delivery of HIV and TB related services including laboratory systems, commodity management, and monitoring and evaluation systems
- Institutionalize use of continuous quality improvement (CQI) frameworks in health service delivery for improved health service quality, enhanced effectiveness, and efficiency in health systems
