Title: Improving TB case identification at Athi river level 4 Hospital through stakeholder engagement
Problem statement:
- Low TB case identification
- Low TB ACF OPD at 15%
Methodology:
Data review showed suboptimal TB case identification in May 2024
- Held consultative meeting with SCTLC/SCMLT/Facility Medsup and reviewed patient flow. Also identified an MOH staff to be the focal person for TB screening in OPD (customer care)
- Facility CME done on TB ACF to all staffs
- Lab support: Samples were being networked to Shalom Athi river hospital which is a private facility. Review showed long TAT of 7 days as a result of high staff turnovers and HCW capacity gaps. Through the support of SCMLT the gene xpert machine was moved to the GOK Athi River Level 4 in June 2024
